Love our City is an initiative directed to encourage the people of our city to make a difference. We refuse to speak negatively about our city and actively serve, love and work with our communities to meet their individual needs.

Love our City began in Newport, South Wales on Valentine’s Day, 2010. The idea was conceived by Karen Cleverly and the people of Bethel Community Church. The logo was designed by Phudge Design and in colloboration with Basics Design.

We long to help you and encourage you to make a difference in simple acts of kindness!

Random Acts of Kindness

If you were in Newport town centre last Thursday or Friday, you may have seen people wearing definitive red t-shirts doing some Random Acts of Kindness. Maybe you even recieved a card and have decided to leave us a message to tell us your story?

I led two teams of young adults to give out flowers, balloons and even free hugs. We held doors open outside of Boots, told jokes just to make people smile and bought coffee for homeless people. We left encouraging messages and gave out thank-you cards to local council workers and members of the police service.

We got a good response from the event and people were geuninely surprised that what we were doing was free!

It really doesn't take much to change someone's day and give them something as simple as a compliment to brighten their mood!

So, it was about time that we left behind the old layout. This is now LoveOurCity v3.0 and we're super happy with the new look.

We want to be able to bring you quality content that is updated more often and far easier to navigate.

Please share the site with your friends, family, colleagues and church members to share what is happening in Newport; a hope-filled movement of love.
